Missouri USA Wrestling will be sponsoring another Bronze Clinic on October 12th right before the general membership meeting. This is an opportunity for your coaches to continue their education and go further in depth about coaching wrestling and coaching philosophies than the copper clinic. To read the flyer on the clinic, click here: Bronze Clinic Notice
The clinic will be on October 12th at 8:00 am at the Holiday Inn in Columbia, right off of Stadium Blvd. The fee is $70, but this does not include their coachs card (which they will have to do on-line). We do require advance notice, so they can e-mail me at cewing@missouriusawrestling.org.
Beginning September 1st, any member who wishes to purchase a coach's card must do so on-line at themat.com. Part of this process will be a background check. Upon completing and passing the background check, you will be able to print off your coaching card for the 2009 season. To view the complete USA Wrestling policy and procedure for the background check; click here: USAW Background ScreeningProcess12-18-07.pdf
Also, Missouri USA Wrestling still requires any new coaches, with the exception of the certified high school wrestling staff, to be a minimum of copper certified. We will continue to offer the copper certification classes and they will be listed under the tournament schedule as they are confirmed. The cost this year will be $15 at the class, since all coaches will still be required to go on-line to purchase their actual card and go through the background screening. You can also take the copper certification on-line at themat.com under coaching education, but be advised that it does cost more to do it that way.
The Board of Directors of Missouri USA Wrestling has set the date for the annual general membership meeting on Sunday, October 12th at 1:00 pm in Columbia at the Holiday Inn Select. To see the agenda, click here: General Meeting Agenda
As per our By-Laws, anyone who has a proposal that requires a vote of the membership, or nomination for one of the Executive Committee positions, must send them in writing to our Secretary, Randy Bradley, at randy.bradley@hdsupply.com prior to August 28th. We will than send out the agenda for the meeting right after that.
